Waiting With My Words
As hours tick by, snacks begin to thin, and my tolerance for wasting away in front of a TV shortens; things like this begin to happen. A blog. They're for lonely people who wish for the world to give them attention, or who try not to hope people care about what happens in their lives but secretly check every day how many times their blog has been viewed. For me this is simply a way to nudge my brain out of its lethargic condition and force it to do what it's best at: write.
Words are the most powerful weapon ever known to man kind. Im sure it's been said many times by many people, but this fact needs to be acknowledged more often. Not a single war, election, or childhood fight could ever have begun or been ended without words. If not for courageous people, pens, and paper we would probably still be wondering what happened at the end of the earth, succumbing to the reign of a monarchy, and discriminating against sex and race. Being a superior species has nothing to do with our thumbs or the fact that we can light fire. We are superior because we can take our thoughts and compile them in to a well rehearsed speech or a thoroughly edited letter, email, or even a blog! Words make us laugh, smile, cry, or fume. They give people a voice who might otherwise not have one. And for a fifteen year old girl asking her self the age old question of what to do while awaiting her friends arrival at her her house...words provide a therapeutic and refreshing way to kill time.
